The Bakehouse is a small artisan bakery focusing on traditional bread making methods.
Unlike commercial bread ours contain only four ingredients; flour, water, yeast and salt. All our breads are low yeast and low salt (1% or less). We also specialise in sourdough. Sourdoughs are unyeasted breads which have great health benefits to those who suffer bloating or discomfort from eating processed bread.
Our first breads of the day are ready between 9:00 and 10:00 but the bakery is open from 9:00 Tuesday to Saturday. Feel free to pop in to place an order or see the processes we use. A full selection of bread and cakes are produced throughout the day.
We also have an attached cafe producing home-made food throughout the day; such as sandwiches, pastries, pasties and of course cakes. All our food is made on site and our staff have a full knowledge of ingredients and processes. If you need to alter a dish on the menu for dietery reasons we will try our best to accomodate the request.
